Judith Selcuk Illustrations

This artwork was created using Derwent Lightfast on Canson Mi Tientes pastel paper on the reverse side to utilise the gently textured surface of the paper that natural lends itself to these pencils. The pigment shows up well against the toned background. In the eye of the feathers I added Pebeo vitrail enamels to further highlight the reflective qualities of the 'eyes'. The botanical and yet scientific style leaves in the background contrasted with the vivid colourations in the peacock's plumage and was created using Derwent pro colour to achieve the clean lines and smooth edges required.
